Champagne, flashbulbs, red carpets, sexy vixens – the world of Russell Freeman is all the stuff music videos are made of. And it should be; as the owner of the legendary Hot Beats Recording Studio in Atlanta, the biggest names in the business including Drake, Gucci Mane, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and Usher, have clamored to work with him. Everything changed on one fateful night in 2010, when Russell’s oldest son 19-year-old Adair, was tragically shot to death feet away from his fathers studio. Artists were spooked, and clients that were mainstays soon dropped off the planet. The Young Money artists all headed elsewhere, except for Nicki Minaj who remained supportive. Although grief-stricken, Russell is determined to rebuild his prominent client roster and recreate Hot Beats as the premiere recording studio in the Hollywood of the South.

Russell is supported by a small but loyal team, his second family of zany creatives who sometimes go off the reservation. Further complicating things is Russell’s very real Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, which is triggered when his need for order and desire for precision collide with the antics of insubordinate employees and highly unpredictable celebrities. Sparks fly when his well- intentioned yet fun-loving staff members inevitably make a mess of something, which Russell will have to untangle and set straight.
